Peak Flow Meters, Inhalers and Spacers
Steps for using a Peak Flow Meter
1. Stand up or sit up straight
2. Put the peak flow meter marker on zero
3. Take a deep breath
4. Seal your lips tightly on the mouthpiece
5. Blow hard and fast
6. Read Number Correctly
7. Record Number Correctly
8. Record the Highest of 3 readings

Steps for using an MDI with spacer 
1. Stand up or sit up straight
2. Shake the inhaler
3. Put the spacer on the inhaler
4. Exhale before using inhaler
5. Seal your lips tightly on the spacer
6. Coordinate the breathing and spraying of inhaler
7. Breathe in Slowly
8. Hold Breath 10 seconds
9. Wait 1-3 minutes between puffs
