Purpose
Student Health and Wellness is a department of the Saint Paul Public Schools, Independent District Number 625. Therefore, the department is subject to all policies and actions of the Directors of the Board of Education and the administrative directives of the Superintendent of the District. Relevant school board actions and policies are referenced throughout the manual. All Board Policies are contained in the Board Policy Manual: Independent School District 625, which may be obtained from the principal in each school building. Regular monthly School Board meetings are generally on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

The Student Health and Wellness Department office is located at 360 Colborne Street, St. Paul, MN 55102. The telephone number for the department is 651-767-8385.

The Student Health and Wellness Department consists of nurses, secretarial support, educational assistants, an accountant, and an administrator. The department is organizationally responsible to the Superintendent through the Chief Accountability Officer.

Each school nurse is assigned to an educational program, and is responsible to a building principal for matters of administration within the building. Each staff nurse is responsible to the Student Health and Wellness Administrator for matters of nursing practice and health standards and consults with the Administrator on questions of nursing practice or unusual situations.
