Steps to a HealthierMN - St. Paul Sixteen schools from the Saint Paul Public School District join Alliance for a Healthier Generation's Healthy Schools Program The Alliance for a Healthier Generation recruited 16 schools from Saint Paul Public Schools to participate in the on-site delivery of the Healthy Schools Program during the 2007-08 school year. Twenty-five additional schools enrolled for on-line assistance. During the year, all 39 schools were invited to attend a series of three technical assistance sessions offered by the Healthy Schools Program Relationship Manager in The Alliance for a Healthier Generation is a joint partnership between the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association with the mission to “eliminate childhood obesity and inspire young people in the In October 2004, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services selected Saint Paul Public Schools, along with the Minnesota Department of Health and the cities of The Saint Paul Public Schools Steps initiative implements programming for students, staff, and awards funding to schools in the district to help promote physical activity and proper nutrition. The program is also focused on educating their target audience about asthma, diabetes, and the dangers of tobacco use. Saint Paul Public Schools receive free Wellness Activation Kits from National and Midwest Dairy Councils Principals in the district will soon be receiving a very special tool kit to help them with their wellness initiatives. The National Dairy Council and Midwest Dairy Council have teamed up with the National Football League to make a long-term commitment to help lead the revolution for healthier kids. To encourage schools to join in, they are offering a free Wellness Activation Kit. This kit will help your students make positive changes when it comes to their eating and exercise habits. Schools will receive creative signage inspired by the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans' Food Groups to Encourage and an easy to follow Play 60 message as well as an entire nutrition and activity challenge program.
