JAM is a free program for schools that brings physical activity and health education into the classroom.  Students and staff participated in a physical activity routine called the JAMmin’ Minute, which is a very simple one-minute exercise routine to help classrooms get more active throughout the school day.  These exercises are done while standing or sitting in their chairs and can be done regardless of fitness level.

The JAM School program also delivers a monthly newsletter called Health-E-Tips.  Schools are using the fitness burst a variety of ways; inside the classroom, over the PA announcements, during assemblies, for staff wellness, and even posting on intranet sites to encourage family members.  JAM can be performed by students who have a disability or other impairment that limits their ability, even the blind.  JAM aims to get students more active and combat childhood obesity.  The health newsletter can be sent home, published in the school newspaper or posted on the website.
